Present Status:

The preliminary survey and test pile works have been completed. The geotechnical investigation work, utility identification work & the execution of working piles, along with the casting of piers and pier caps are currently in progress.

Brief Description

The project of “Construction of Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar, Ghatkopar to Anand Nagar, Thane was approved in the 156th Authority Meeting held on 05/03/2024 amounting to Rs. 3314.40 crore.

The proposed project is a 6-lane corridor (3+3 lanes) with a total length of 13.90 km, commencing from the existing Eastern Freeway and passing through the Ramabai / Kamraj Nagar area, thereafter traversing major junctions including Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Kanjurmarg, JVLR, Airoli & Mulund and terminating at Anand Nagar near Thane. Further, a 6+6 lane toll plaza has been proposed near the Navghar Flyover, along with 2-lane up and down ramps for southbound traffic at strategic locations near Mulund Check Naka, Airoli Junction and Vikhroli Junction.

The Eastern Freeway Extension elevated corridor has to merged with Anand Nagar to Saket Elevated Road at Mulund Octroi Naka.

M/s. Navayuga Engineering Company Limited has been appointed as the contractor on dated 18.12.2024 and M/s. Sheladia Associates Inc. in association with M/s. SMEC International Pty. Ltd. has been appointed as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) on dated 18.12.2024 for the said project.

Work completion period = 48 months (12 months for Design / Environmental Clearance) + (36 months for Construction).

Defects Liability period (DLP) = 24 months.

Contract Cost: Rs. 2682 Cr.
