Notified Area at Worli
The Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, vide Notification No. TPB-4321/CR-130/2021/UD-11 dated 25 September 2025, has declared the lands in the Development Plan of Greater Mumbai bearing C.S. Nos. 5/866, 14/866, 911-912-913-914-915-982B, 866/7-866/8, 866/10-866/11-866/12-866/13, 1/45, 866/9, 918, 872-873, 874-875, 899, 992 (part), 916, 900 and 876 (part) of Worli Division, Mumbai, admeasuring approximately 5.03 ha, to be Notified Area under Section 40(1) of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966 and appointed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) as Special Planning Authority (SPA) for the said area.

As per sub-section (1AA) of Section 37 of the said Act, the reservation for the "Marine Research Institute, Aquarium, Exhibition Center" shown on the above notified area as shown in the Development Plan of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is proposed to be deleted, and the said land is proposed to be included in the Commercial Zone. The Urban Development Department (UDD) of the Government pf Maharashtra has invited suggestions/ objections regarding this through a separate notification dated 25/09/2025 and Deputy Director, Town Planning, Greater Mumbai, is authorised as the officer to hear objections/suggestions for the same. The Deputy Director, Town Palnning, Greater Mumbai has submitted his report to UDD, Government of Maharashtra.
