Overview

In order to further improve the suburban railway service network and operations, MRVC has formulated MUTP-II to be funded under the same formula as applied to MUTP-I. Government of Maharashtra and Ministry of Railway has approved the project. The Project Agreement signed on 23rd July, 2010 between Government of India and the World Bank. The Project Expenditure is shared 50:50 between the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India.

Project cost is Rs. 5,300 crores and World Bank has sanctioned Fund of Rs. 1,910 crores.
