The Government of Maharashtra has appointed MMRDA as a Special Planning Authority (SPA) for the following area:
The Town & Country Planning Division of MMRDA is involved in preparation of Planning Proposal for the above SPA areas. It also issues Development Permissions, No Objection Certificate (NOC's), D.P. Remarks, processing of Land use modification proposals. It also co-ordinates with local authorities on various issues related to development.
This division also looks after various projects such as:
- Regional Planning
- International Financial Services Centre (IFSC)
- Master Plan of Salt Pan Lands in Mumbai
- Raigad Pen Growth Centre
- Environment Improvement Society
- Heritage Conservation Society
- Mithi River Development & Protection
Functions of Division
Functions of T&CP division are as follows:
- Prepares Development Plans for the SPA areas
- Issues Development Permissions, No Objection Certificate (NOC's)
- Provides clarification regarding CRZ, D.P. Remarks
- Processing of Land use modification proposals.
